The opportunity to purchase a house at 18 years old, set in motion my life-long passion for homeownership and the pursuit of successful real estate investments.
Joining Inhabit Real Estate as a broker is the ideal opportunity for me to provide a service forward approach to helping clients identify their real estate goals, plan a customized strategy to navigate the journey, and achieve their dream of homeownership.
20+ years of experience in the hospitality industry has allowed me to develop my expertise in the art of personalized service. In doing so, I’ve learned that attention to detail and personalization is what makes the difference. My acuity and acumen, as an investor and buyer & seller of my own personal real estate, has given me invaluable resources and experiences to share with my clientele.
How I came to call myself a resident of Portland began with a whimsical trip in 2015 which set the stage for relocation from Atlanta in 2016. Finding the neighborhoods of southeast PDX aligning the best with our passions for design, community, food & wine, my partner Molly and I, along with our dog Rosie, settled in the wonderful neighborhood of Ladd’s Addition.
When I’m not engaged in real estate you will most likely find me running in the streets of Portland or on the trails of Forest Park, hunting for treasured jazz records and rare chairs at antique malls or finding the coolest new spots to take friends and family.
P.S. If you like to talk about wine, I am a certified Sommelier as well.
My first transaction with Clayton was terrific. He is well organized with strong communication skills. He was able to negotiate through a very tough inspection period and secure an amazing deal for his clients. I would recommend him for any first time or experienced home buyer.
Clayton was the perfect agent in helping my partner and me navigate the home buying process. From day one, Clay was always available for viewings, lightning fast with communications, understood what features we wanted and sought out, and intelligently steered us away from homes that wouldn’t benefit our needs.
In addition, Clay went above and beyond any expectations we had of a real estate agent’s duties by getting down and dirty to look through every nook and cranny before we landed our dream home.
Selling your home is never fun, but Clayton made it easy and stress-free. He should be commended for his calm demeanor, professionalism, and thorough communication throughout the transaction. He is prompt to respond, knowledgeable about the market, and willing to take on extra tasks beyond the scope of his job to help his clients.
Clay has always had an eye for quality and value and a desire to provide his clients more than expected. Making people feel heard, welcome, and cared for are the cornerstones of his business. Clay exemplifies those qualities in his daily interactions. It’s just the way the man is built. Clay is a great listener and has always gone beyond what most would expect to make things right by people. He cares about his community and has always been there to provide advice.
Clay is incredibly detail oriented and intentional with his time and his actions. As a friend, this translates to loyal, thoughtful and dependable. In business, those same apply but it is also seen through his relationship approach to customer service. His sincerity coupled with his unmatched professionalism will always shine when you are with him and I can say, with conviction, that whatever Clay does, he does it well and does it the right way.
Clay’s due diligence and his abilities to research what it is he’s doing along with not being afraid of tough conversation make him my choice as a realtor.
One of Clay’s strongest assets is his dedication to seeing through to the end any project that he has begun, bringing flexibility and wisdom, and working with his team to achieve success.
